Well maintained cemetery with many famous fallen soldiers
Some of the Civil War heroes are also laid to rest here. The "Unknown Soldiers" have their place as well.
I am grateful to all those who fought and gave their all for future generations, and to be able to visit their resting place and say a thank you is just spine chilling.
I hope any and all who are interested will visit.
I will Never Forget The Memorial Service Administered by the United States Army for my Father with “Full Honors”. Their Chaplain was so Compassionate to My Mother, Brother and Myself. In Hearing the 22 Gun Salute and Closing with Taps. My Enormous Thanks to The Marietta National Cemetery Staff, who Coordinated this Event! On This Veterans Day, 2017, I give my Thanks to “ALL” who Placed the Wreaths On all the Graves and Sharing these Photographs! God Bless America!
I am so proud to say my father is here.
The cemetery is laid out in such a way that makes it easy to find any grave. It is very well maintained all year round.
History is everywhere, take time to walk around and enjoy it. Soak it in and understand what came before you.
Amazing historic cultural heritage site in the heart of Marietta. Abe Lincoln spoke here, and so do the spirits of our ancestors to this day.
